Hello SAGM II people!
Here’s a preview of our new site, which will be live very soon!
A big thank you goes out to our new VP Communication Cristian Ivascu for our new website!
We’re fixing hosting issues at the moment, but the site will be live soon!
Welcome (back) to school! Hopefully you’ve had an excellent summer, because MecVT sure has!
The team has a brand new vehicle, and it’s a 4-speed manual! Details at the meeting!
The McMaster Engineering Custom Vehicle Team (MecVT) is happy to announce that we’re having our first team meeting of the year.
When: Monday, September 24 @ 6:30PM
Where: JHE 219
Here’s a few things on the agenda:
Intro to the team / executive members
The Hamilton Santa Claus Parade
Top Gear nights
New projects. (Tron bike? Drift car?)
Any crazy ideas you all might have
Talk about fast cars/bikes and cool gadgets
Work to be done on the cars – Carpool 2 needs a new hitch mount for example
Carpool 3,Ford Festiva “Superleggera”, Motorized Shopping Cart
Basic car maintenance, including oil changes, brake work etc.
We can’t wait to see you there!
Our new VP Communications Thai Dang is working on a brand new website!
It should be live by the end of the month.
MecVT has undergone a big expansion to our executive structure.
I’d like to give a big welcome to the new exec members for this year!
You can see our new roster on the TEAM page.
Hopefully with the additional Exec muscle, MecVT will be able to further grow it’s member base this year.
It is my hope, that MecVT will not only enhance existing projects, but continue to stretch the boundries of the “custom vehicle”
I’m looking forward to working with all of the new Exec this year!
With some work, (and a little luck) I think we’ll make MAC ENG even prouder of our crazy creations.
I can’t wait for the break, we’ve got some great builds planned!
MecVT Wants You!
…To get involved with the team!
If you missed our last meeting, here’s what’s on the table for the summer:
Carpool II – New gel coat, BBQ
Carpool III – Re-stain/Repair deck
Hovercraft – Continue work. Install drive engine.
Tempo – Convert to lightweight bedracer.
Motorized Shopping Cart – New brakes, sprocket and chain, repaint.
I’m probably missing things here, but we’ve got a lot planned!
The amount we get done is directly proportional to how many people we have to work on the projects.
If you’re interested in helping with any of the above projects, and are available in the summer, please send us an email.
We’re also looking for project team managers, so if you’re interested, let us know!
Also, did you hear? The ExCEL referendum passed with flying colours. Shop space for future MecVTers!
Also on that note, MecVT needs a representative to be part of the ExCEL ‘User Groups’.
If you’re interested in becoming involved in the ExCEL design process, this is your chance!
Good luck with your exams!
Have you seen MecVT around?
We were at two events in the past few weeks.
A combined MES Canada day / March break tours event was a success.
Beach Day was also a lot of fun. Glad everyone enjoyed the carpool!
This post really should have been before the Team meeting post, but c’est la vie!
MecVT is holding a general team meeting.
When: Monday March 26th @7:00 PM
Where: JHE 265 (The same room we watched Top Gear)
We’ll be discussing plans and projects for the summer and the fate of Deloris the Tempo (Beater Car).
Also, if you’re interested in helping to run the team, we’re going to be discussing additions to our executive team for next year!
Send us an email if you can’t make it, and we’ll fill you in.
Now that the weather is warming up, we can’t wait to get working on many of our projects!
Have you heard about the new ExCEL building?
It’s going to give McMaster Engineering students a place to apply their knowledge with hands-on learning. This building is important to MecVT as it will give us a heated shop space, and allow us to work year round!
Check out the official webpage for more info. http://eng.mcmaster.ca/excel/
